- I am at an all time high in my addiction to coffee right now. I was borderline suicidal before I had a cup this morning.
- This is the absolute most stressful year that I have ever experienced in my life. Yet, I am managing to eat good, work out, manage my money well and most importantly - I feel a strong connection with everyone in my life right now.
- Public Transportation - I'm totally over it. The best way for the Bay Area to manage its over-crowding, and put SF on par with the other great metropolitan cities in the world is to build a great subway system. Whats the point in taking BART if its only 10% cheaper and 40% longer?
- My faith in the US Judicial System is about a 3 out of 10. With a 1-3 (out of 10) sliding scale, depending how dark your skin is.
- Habeas Corpus.
- Macbook Pro - I totally understand the Mac movement now.
- I miss a lot of people right now.
- The A's are probably a 2nd place team (in their Division) this year, but I can't wait for the next 10 years to play out. The A's average a World Championship every 12 years.
- I liked the Clintons before 2008.
- I weigh 172 lbs, down from 183lbs this time last year. Not sure if thats good or bad, but probably indicative of living in and then out of San Francisco.
- Parents always say that the best part about having kids is that when you come home after a long funky day, your kids are always happy to see you. I'd have to say the same thing about my dog. She always stoked to see me. Dogs rule.
I'm going to be posting some pictures from the wonderful Hawaii trip that I just took pretty soon. By the way - does anyone know how to rotate a video in iMovie? Me being the novice that I am - captured a 30 second video on my phone cam but held it 90 degrees to the right. Oops. I gotta figure that out, the video is priceless.
Anyhow, I saw the most preposterous poll in the Chronicle this week. The poll comes during the week when ESPN Power Rankings puts the A's at the very top. While the Giants are 29th (out of 30). I've always tried to tell my Giants/Bonds/ATT Park loving friends that even though they weren't Giants fans during the Candlestick era, they should at least try to research the teams history before choosing to root for the lesser baseball franchise in the Bay Area. Sure, there are some demographics involved. I realize that I am around a lot of Filipinos, and them being from South San Fran or Daly City or San Bruno or Vallejo or Union City or San Jose some how means that they fall within the "San Francisco" area code. Its the same logic that allows some of my basketball friends to root for the Lakers - "because my Dad used to be a fan of Kareem". Well ya know what - if your Dad wasn't from LA - he was a bandwagoner too. The GS Warriors won a championship in 1975. Jamaal Wilkes, Rick Barry anyone? But whatever, its fine, they look good in $300 black and orange - so it works for them. But, just to reiterate, the A's have 4 World Series Championships, the Giants have zero. This isn't even a question. But hey, the garlic fries at ATT park are pretty darn good.
Who's got it better, Giants or A's?
This week's baseball poll in The Sporting Green comes down to whether it's better to have won World Series or to have a beautiful ballpark, or whether Bay Area fans are just lucky to have two teams in town.
